Exploring the rugged splendour of Lough Salt and the Donegal Board Walk Resort, after a refreshing bite to eat at the Olde Glen Bar and Bia Box.

Setting out from Downings village, you will explore all of the splendour and contrast of the locality as you e-bike past the Rosapenna Hotel and Golf Resort, the beautiful building of St. John the Baptist Church, Carrigart on your way to The Old Glen Bar and Bia Box.

The contrast between the sandy links of the Rosapenna Golf Resort and spectacular mountainous views from the Lough Salt viewing point of the Ards Peninsula and the Derryveagh Mountains (Muckish and Errigal Mountain) is worth the effort.

You will find the Lough Salt viewing point in the hills high above Glen Village and visiting this viewing point will reward you with outstanding views of the Glen Lough, Lackagh Bridge, Doe Castle, Ards Friary and Forest Park, Sheephaven Bay and Downings Bay as well as an alternative view of the Rosguill Peninsula.

After absorbing the amazing views and the free-wheel back into Glen, you will have deserved a well-earned rest and opportunity to enjoy the delights of The Old Glen Bar and Bia Box.

On the way home it is well worth taking in Lackagh Bridge and the viewing points of Doe Castle, home of the MacSweeney’s on the shores of the Sheephaven Bay.

To freshen the lungs and legs you may finish your e-biking experience with a final stop at the Donegal Board Walk Resort and the glorious 1.1km wooden boardwalk that takes you down to the Tramore Beach from Cuan Na Rí.
